Angelina Ballerina pitch


Angelina , a little dancing mouse created by author Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig , I built a while ago for mainframe entertainment. She is a character from a popular series of children's books published in 1982.



I worked on her model and built the fur, here are some of the W.I.P pictures:

Weight off my shoulder

Today I am officially off Barbie Mariposa, what is so special about it ? It was the first show I ever supervised . I couldn't help myself smiling when my name appeared on the screen, " Modeling Supervisor : Jimmy Chang ". Love it, love it. Although it was not a big blockbuster show like any of the Pixar movie, but I am sure Mariposa is the most remarkable one in my life. Mom, hope you could be here to share with my joy and to witness the most important achievement in my life. To my beloved LaLa, thank you for supporting me all these years, without you, I will never come this far .
Emily, Lea , Lan, Kelly, Lawrence, Shane,Cecilia, Hoang,Daniel, Francois, Terral and Nadine; I really appreciated all your hard works and late nights, the show looked just amazing. Thank you~

今天 十一月二十四號 2007 年 我終於完成我人生第一個監督的秀 Mariposa 肩膀也頓時輕了下來 從三月開始瘋狂的加班到這個月 我那可憐的肝終於也可以稍為休息一下 很感謝組上所有人的努力 我們打了一場完美的戰 Everyone should be proud of himself.

Ironman pitch I worked on








  This was a pitch to the movie Ironman I have worked on. Although we didn't get the project, but it was still a fun experience. ( errr one that I wish I don't have to go through again).

  Shane Merner , Chad and I worked on the ironman model in about a week and half. I was in charge of the overall proportion and built the arm and the hand in the final model. We started this model in a parallel pipeline which was really a pain in the ass; everyone modeled different parts from different company while mocap team was animating the proxy model I made earlier. We couldn't perceive the final look until we put the pieces together.

  In the last week, I worked with a rigger and our mission was to have a rigged and finalzied model which must have no intersections or crushes during the animation. Hello ?? We are no engineers ~ Luckily we somehow survived and managed to get it done.



這是我一年多前在Mainframe時所參與的電影Ironman的競標案,雖然最後還是敗給了ILM ( 一早就猜到競標的公司都是來頭都不小,所以就抱著有試有希望的心態在做) 這個model 是我和公司另外兩位同事Shane and Chad一起合作建成的。我主要是負責整體的比例和手臂跟手的model,整個過程可以說是有血有淚。不過這也是我第一次負責帶領整個建模小組跟不同公司部門合作,所以用自己的小宇宙換來的經驗也算是值得的。
